My process began with a phone screen, and then I was given a take-home assignment using their mock website.

The take-home took me around 12–15 hours, and it felt like the biggest time commitment of the entire pipeline.

Once I submitted it, I heard back that they wouldn’t be moving forward with me. What stood out was that they didn’t tell me they wouldn’t provide feedback until after the decision was already made. That timing made it feel disrespectful of the time I’d invested, especially because I would’ve at least understood the expectation upfront.

I didn’t get an offer, and the lack of communication about feedback was the main thing that stayed with me—more than the technical work itself.
