Plaid Software Engineer interview experience

After that, I did a basic coding challenge over Google Hangouts. Following the screen, I was given a take-home coding assignment and spent more than 12 hours working through it.

After I turned it in, the recruiter let me know they weren’t moving forward and gave very little explanation for why. That “small reason” gap made the whole thing feel a lot harsher than it might have if there had been at least a bit more clarity.

I didn’t get an offer, and honestly the long time investment combined with minimal feedback was the part that left the strongest impression.
