My loop started with a Google Hangout, and then the interviewer sent me an email containing two text files with the prompt and the data.

The process felt a bit unorganized to me, because after we got on the call I had to do a screen share for the coding challenge and then work from those files in my own local environment.

That caught me off guard. I wasn’t expecting to have to download and set up a dev environment on the fly, and it took a few minutes since I wasn’t ready for it. I finished both prompts within the time I had, but afterward I received a rejection letter the very next day with no explanation.

I didn’t get an offer, and it left me feeling like my time was wasted and the experience was just unpleasant.
