What surprised me most was how the assessment centered on machine learning knowledge instead of classic algorithm practice.

When I took the online evaluation, there weren’t any algorithm-style questions; the questions dug into ML concepts in a pretty detailed way.

I also saw the coding portion framed more like data analytics work than pure engineering. The Python component felt aimed at testing how I’d apply data tools like pandas, rather than experimenting with a problem-solving style you’d see in a typical algorithms contest. The overall assessment rhythm felt consistent with what I’d been told would be covered: a product case, an experiment design piece, SQL, and a coding segment tied to Python/pandas.
