I got reached out by a recruiter after applying online without a referral, and I went straight into a screening round.

I didn’t pass, and the feedback was essentially that they expected a strong level of proficiency in both Python and R to move forward.

The rejection happened right after that initial screening, so I didn’t get to explore deeper technical formats. Still, the message was pretty direct: they were looking for language fluency as a baseline.

I didn’t get an offer from this attempt. The frustrating part was how quickly it ended, but it also made the process feel straightforward—if the core scripting expectations weren’t met, there wasn’t a path to prove deeper skills.
