Pinterest Machine Learning Engineer interview experience

That part covered a mix of machine learning and deep learning principles, and it wasn’t just conceptual—there was an implementation component where I had to write algorithms.

Alongside coding, the assessment included written response and quiz-style questions, so it tested more than one way of thinking. The whole thing felt like a comprehensive filter rather than a casual pre-check.

I didn’t end up getting an offer after that stage. Still, it was clear what they were optimizing for, and the experience made it obvious that they expected real familiarity across both theory and implementation.
