I ran into a disappointing assessment loop for the Software Engineer process, where a CCAT retake didn’t feel meaningful.

Online application + CCAT — After applying, I was sent a link to complete the CCAT cognitive assessment.
Recruiter phone interview — I then had a phone interview, after which I was told I didn’t pass the assessment.
CCAT retake logistics — I was asked to take it again, with a promise of 5 extra minutes, but was also told they couldn’t present me to a hiring manager without passing. Outcome: No offer, and my takeaway was that the test gate felt like a waste of time rather than a helpful signal.
