I got far enough to reach a technical assessment stage.

The work itself wasn’t the main issue—what stopped me was what happened right after. The recruiter came back with feedback that the team had decided to low-ball my salary and title expectations, and that meant they wouldn’t move forward.

Instead of continuing the process, I decided to step back because I already had other offers on the table. It wasn’t really an evaluation of technical fit for me at that point; it felt like the process ended quickly due to compensation alignment, and I didn’t regret pausing once I saw where it was headed.
