Paytm Software Engineer interview experience

SeniorPosted May 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a fairly standard but thorough SDE3/backend flow that blended DSA, system design, and then managerial evaluation.

After the initial stages, the interview process ended up looking like DSA first, then a system design + DSA round that included both LLD and HLD, and finally a techno-managerial round that mixed system design, DSA, and behavioral questions.

The design portion stood out because it wasn’t just one style of thinking—I had to cover low-level and high-level design expectations alongside a DSA component. The DSA pieces were there at multiple points in the journey, so it never felt like I could “finish coding” and be done; I had to keep shifting gears between problem-solving and design
