I started at a campus career fair, which then led into an online assessment with multiple-choice questions.

After that, I had an HR phone call where we went over my background and why I wanted to be a software engineer and why Paycom. The process then moved into a second HR round that leaned into typical behavioral questions.

What made the day feel different was the “Tech Night” event—part interview and part experience—where they also took the group out to Topgolf. The interview itself didn’t feel overly intimidating; it was more about getting a sense of who I was and whether my motivations and basics fit what they were looking for.
