My process started with a recruiter phone screen, and once I was viewed as a good fit I moved quickly into conversations with the hiring manager.

For me, that meant speaking with the director-level person I would’ve reported to, and after I impressed them I moved into a panel interview. They told me the panel was the final step.

After that, I still had another “final” meeting with a senior director. At that point, I’d invested real energy—building a 30/60/90 business plan and walking through it—and it still ended without a clear response. I was essentially left hanging, even after I reached out for feedback and tried to get a conclusive answer.
