I applied online with my CV and cover letter, and I was contacted quickly to complete SHL assessments.

A day later I had a phone interview with an HR officer, which felt pretty standard but still got into real competency territory, along with the usual “why consulting, why PA” type questions. I remember how fast everything moved—after that initial call, I was invited to an assessment centre the very next day.

At the assessment centre, I went through a full, structured day: an intro talk, then an interview that drew on my CV plus deeper competency questions that focused on the sector I’d applied for. After that came a role play where I was given a short document pack to read in a tight window.
