Outreach Software Engineer interview experience

After an initial screening round, I got into a coding round where the coding prompt was shared live and I had to produce complete, executable code while handling corner cases. That part felt very hands-on and practical, and I had to stay careful the whole time.

Later I went into a system design round. I was given a problem statement and first asked to lay out a monolith-style solution. Once that was mapped, the conversation shifted toward designing for scaling and high throughput, with follow-ups to clarify how I’d think about tradeoffs as load increases.
