Oracle Software Engineer interview experience

IC3Posted Apr 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

After applying through the careers portal, I went through an interview flow where the first stage was a DSA screening round and the remaining rounds were scheduled together and didn’t feel eliminatory.

The overall format felt structured: I was tested for both fundamentals and a bit of higher-level design right after the initial screening.

In the DSA portion, the problem was “median of two sorted arrays.” Then the technical round moved into a mix of DSA plus HLD. I was asked about “top-k elements” (using a Bucket S approach), and I also had to explain how I would design an API gateway. Interviewers were focused on how I reasoned through tradeoffs and how I’d structure the solution end-to-end rather than just arriving at code.

What stood out to me most was that I didn’t get cut off early
