Software Manager technical round, and the emphasis was on system design problems. The conversation was structured around discussing system-level thinking rather than spending most of the time on coding mechanics.
What stood out to me was how quickly the interviewer moved into design tradeoffs and how I had to articulate my reasoning clearly as the discussion progressed. It didn’t feel like a casual discussion; it felt like they wanted a coherent way of breaking down requirements and turning them into a workable design.
That round left me feeling like I had to think at a higher level than
