Oracle Software Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I was heading into Oracle with an OCI team onsite scheduled for an SMTS/PMTS-style role, and I was told I’d have five rounds total even though I didn’t get many specifics ahead of time.

Because the details were so light, I spent a lot of the lead-up just trying to understand what level of coding they expected and how the rounds might be split.

Alongside that, there were also questions in my head about the broader interview difficulty at higher seniority levels—how interviews typically feel for roles like Sr or Principal engineer within Oracle. Even with that uncertainty, the focus seemed to remain on standard engineering problem solving, and I paid attention to the kind of LeetCode difficulty expectations people were sharing for upcoming SWE loops.
