My interview felt unusually hard and a bit out of the ordinary in terms of what they asked.

The questions weren’t just generic programming prompts—I was pulled into low-level computer architecture territory.

I ended up talking about cache behavior, including things like how L1 cache works, and how to think about cache organization at a deeper level. They also asked about MESI protocol concepts and other pipeline-related questions. The main thing that stood out was that it wasn’t only about knowing terminology; it was about applying it to scenarios they brought up, and I knew I’d have to answer honestly if I didn’t know something.
