I went through an onsite sequence with three interviews that were very hardware-and-systems oriented.

The first interview focused on logic thinking and programmatic skills. The second interview shifted into hardware-software integration, where I discussed my previous projects and how I approached the work.

The last onsite round dug into storage and I/O concepts in general, including NVMe and the storage stack within the kernel. That depth made it clear they were hiring for someone who could work close to real system behavior, not just write code.

I received an offer. What I appreciated most was that the topics matched what I’d be doing, and the questions felt grounded in operating knowledge
