Nuro Software Engineer interview experience

Posted Mar 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My phone screen was centered on a trie-based coding problem similar to search suggestions.

I started implementing a prefix structure and moved through the approach carefully, but the clock ran out around the time I needed to finish and test everything end to end. I was trying to land the full solution, yet I didn’t have enough time to complete it properly.

Even though I ran out of runway, the round still felt like a straightforward evaluation of how I built and reasoned about prefix search under time pressure. I didn’t advance beyond that screen, and the main factor was simply not getting to a complete working implementation within the allocated time.
