I started with the kind of initial outreach that gave me context and set expectations, and then I moved into interviews with the hiring manager and a group of teammates I’d potentially collaborate with.

Most of the time went into understanding how I’d work day-to-day rather than just grinding through abstract questions.

The process still had a coding and technical evaluation component, but the overall vibe felt more like a cross-functional conversation—figuring out fit, communication style, and the practical ways I’d contribute with the team. After those discussions, I didn’t end up getting an offer.

My reflection was that it was less about “gotchas” and more about whether my approach matched the way they actually collaborate, even though that alignment didn’t turn into an offer for me.
