I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a split format: an onsite discussion that felt laid back, plus a separate online interview focused on behavior.

On-campus: paired engineer conversation — The in-person portion was conversational, with a pair of engineers asking mostly behavioral questions.
Separate digital interview — The online portion asked behavioral prompts through recording-style questions. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the takeaway was that the process prioritized communication and situational judgment over hard technical evaluation.
