NextEra Energy, Inc. Software Engineer interview experience

Palm Beach, FLPosted Aug 2015 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineer role in a more intense, scenario-heavy format that felt difficult, with longer in-person time and comparatively technical content.

All-day interview with multiple hiring managers — I spent the day touring a facility and being interviewed by several managers, from 8AM to 5PM, with many questions.
Technical/scenario-focused discussion — Another phase leaned more technical: I discussed job responsibilities, reviewed scenarios they face, and was asked about BI and database programming topics; energy experience was noted as a plus. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the takeaway was that the more demanding track emphasized both technical scenarios and stamina across the day.
