I went through a fairly standard recruiter-to-technical flow, and it started off like it would be straightforward.

The recruiter screen was normal, then I completed technical rounds—some of the questions aligned well with general data structures and algorithms—but the process ultimately left me frustrated. In one part of the journey, the interviewer feedback and level expectations felt mismatched with what I’d experienced elsewhere, and it made the “fit” feel a bit unclear.

The most demoralizing pattern, though, was silence after the final rounds. After a technical interview, I never heard back at all and it felt like the process vanished, even though I’d been expecting at least a rejection or any kind
