My technical round went fine and I cleared it, so I felt okay going into HR.

Then HR didn’t go the way I expected—during the conversation, the interviewer seemed distracted and spent time on a phone call while I was speaking. It was hard to get a fair back-and-forth, and I felt like I wasn’t being listened to.

After that, I was rejected, and the experience left a sour note because the HR round felt careless rather than evaluative. The result was quick, but what stayed with me was how much the behavior of the interviewer affected my confidence in the process.
