Los Gatos, CAPosted Mar 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I got through two technical rounds, and both interviewers told me I was doing great.

After that, I received a take-home assignment and completed it.

Even after finishing the assignment, I didn’t get an offer. The feedback was that they needed someone with better skills. I never got the feeling that it was a disagreement about my approach during the take-home—more that the bar for capability in their eyes just wasn’t met.

Overall, the experience felt like I was strong early, but the final evaluation came down to a higher skills threshold than I apparently represented on paper and in the work. It was disappointing, but at least the decision felt straightforward.
