The interviews themselves felt good at first, but I felt the conversation shift when I brought up something family-oriented.

The interviewer pushed back and said they weren’t family-oriented in the way I’d described, and the tone of the discussion took a turn from there.

The experience also made me pay attention to Netflix’s culture memo—when the conversation veered into values, it became clear that the culture framing mattered a lot for being considered in later rounds.

I didn’t move forward to an offer. What stood out wasn’t the technical content so much as how quickly the values discussion could change the direction of the process.
