My first stage was purely technical, and then I moved into a second round with the hiring manager plus two other managers from the IT division.

The technical part came first, and it set the baseline.

What made the second round stand out was that it wasn’t really tied to IT specifics. Instead, they asked psychological-style questions, focusing more on how I’d respond mentally than on technology details. The contrast between a technical opener and a psychology-focused discussion made the process feel different than I expected, and it left me thinking they were evaluating fit in a broader sense than just skills.
