I had a very good experience technically—the interviewer was extremely knowledgeable, and it felt like the conversation could’ve been a strong learning opportunity for me if I’d been selected.

The interview itself focused on fit for a role involving the security and deployment layer of an application.

I realized I didn’t have as much alignment with that specific area as they wanted, and that gap showed up in the outcome. Even though the discussion was high quality, I ended up being rejected because my background lagged behind what they were targeting. It stung a bit because I could tell how deep the interviewer was willing to go, but the mismatch made the decision feel understandable.
