My process felt fairly straightforward and more conversation-driven than some of the harsher versions of technical interviewing.

I had a round where the interviewer asked a few technical questions and also spent time on my background—what I’d done in previous positions and how I got to the role. Alongside that, there were personality-style questions, and I remember the interviewer asking me to clarify things and explain where my experience had come from.

I didn’t have a ton of CS-side projects because school and a part-time job took up most of my time, and that actually came up directly. The interviewer stayed friendly and seemed to factor in my non-CS work experience instead of only looking for building-from-scratch
