National Grid Software Engineer interview experience

New York, NYPosted Feb 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview felt light compared to how much time some other stages seemed to take elsewhere.

It was mostly basic questions—focused on overcoming difficult situations and general fit. The people interviewing me were genuinely nice, and because of Covid everything ran through video.

There wasn’t anything technical that would have made me sweat, and the tone stayed relaxed throughout. The pace of communication afterwards was slower than I expected, so I spent more time waiting for updates than I did being assessed. Even with that lag, the actual conversations themselves were easy, and I came away thinking it was a friendly process, even though it didn’t turn into an offer.
