The interview I went through was conducted by an external company, and it felt different from the usual back-and-forth.

There wasn’t really a discussion—more of a question-and-answer format where I couldn’t really steer the conversation or offer much in terms of personal opinions. The structure made it feel like the goal was efficiency and filtering as many people as possible.

Because the format didn’t allow much flexibility, it leaned on testing style and pace rather than explanation. The difficulty was on the higher side for me, and I walked away feeling that I’d been assessed more like a screening exercise than a collaborative technical conversation.
