After I was accepted into the PhD program, the next stage was more of a matching process than a traditional selection interview.

I went through informal matching interviews with professors during visit days.

Those conversations centered on finding a good fit, and there was an explicit fallback plan: if no match was found before the start date, the graduate student office would provide guidance on finding an appropriate professor to work with. The difficulty was medium, but it felt less like a test and more like real conversations to see who fit best.

I didn’t receive an offer in the account I’m drawing from, but the structure still felt purposeful—designed to help place you into the right research environment.
