I started with what was supposed to be an informal LinkedIn exchange, and it quickly turned into a phone hiring interview that felt very standard.

During the call, HR explained that the role’s offer and day-to-day setup were extremely bureaucratic—basically lots of responding to emails and ticking boxes. Hearing that was a real mood killer for me.

I was already demotivated by the time we finished discussing what I’d be expected to do, and I ultimately withdrew from the process. Honestly, the biggest surprise wasn’t the interview format—it was how flat and administrative the position sounded compared to what I’d been expecting, and I wasn’t willing to commit to that.
