My hiring journey started like a standard process, and it sounded positive at the time.

They told me they were willing to accept me even though they didn’t have an open project at that moment, and that it could take a few months for something to come up.

What happened next was the opposite of satisfying: a year went by and I never heard anything further. Since they didn’t follow up with clarity or next steps, I ended up feeling stuck and out of the loop.

No offer came through, and the reflection I kept coming back to was how long that “we might have something later” explanation can last before it stops feeling like a plan and starts feeling like silence.
