After a brief company introduction, the agency director shared their perspective on what PMO work actually looks like day to day.

The interview was strange in the way it leaned into a blunt, opinionated take on the job—almost like a provocative question about whether PMO was really the right lane for me.

I didn’t get the sense of a tight, typical loop of casework and structured questions. Instead, it felt more like a direct conversation meant to challenge my motivation and expectations. I left the exchange feeling unsettled rather than fully evaluated. No offer came out of it, and my reflection was that the approach didn’t match the kind of PMO discussion I was hoping for—more commentary than assessment.
