My Microsoft SDE-2 loop felt structured and fairly intense: it was four interviews, each centered on design system thinking and problem solving.

One of the problem-solving interviews even involved using AI as part of the task, which caught me off guard a little because it wasn’t just a classic coding prompt.

Another problem-solving round was a medium LeetCode-style question, and the loop also included a culture-oriented interview. I would’ve described the difficulty as average overall, but the variety across the rounds made it harder to stay consistent—each interviewer wanted a different angle on how I thought through problems.

I didn’t get an offer, and the overall feeling I left with was that the loop was less about one “perfect”
