Seattle, WAPosted Feb 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I attended a Microsoft hiring event that ran through four rounds, split evenly between coding and object-oriented design.

Two rounds were coding-focused and two rounds tested OOD skills.

What stood out was that, even though it was an SDE2-style loop, it didn’t include a separate system design round. It left me feeling like the evaluation was heavily weighted toward code structure and OOD thinking, not broad system architecture. I didn’t get an offer, but the format was coherent and clearly aligned with those themes.
