Microsoft Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Positive

SeattleCandidate report, summarized by Dataford

I wrapped up my interview loop for an L60 Software Engineer role on a core team at Microsoft, and the recruiter follow-up email that came later was mostly upbeat.

The recruiter told me my overall feedback was positive, but the team hadn’t selected me for an open position.

What stood out was that they said they’d share my feedback with other teams that had similar roles and identical qualifications. I didn’t get the clean closure of a “no” tied to one specific reason, and instead it felt like my candidacy was being kept in circulation.

In the end, I didn’t get an offer from that team, and I was left with a mixed feeling: good signs in how they described my performance, but still no spot secured, so I had to wait and see whether other teams would pick
