Microsoft Software Engineer interview experience

Before the actual questions started, they gave me a small test task just to make sure the environment and system worked properly.

Once everything was set, I was given two more substantial questions in the medium-to-hard range. The whole thing felt like it was gauging whether I could work through coding problems end to end in that particular platform.

By the end I didn’t get an offer, and the experience overall felt like a fairly strict technical evaluation with little room for narrative or context beyond the code I produced.
