Meta Software Engineer interview experience

After that, my first real interview was a hiring-manager screen that lasted about 30–45 minutes and mixed technical and behavioral questions.

I couldn’t clear that round. It was a direct, fairly typical first step, and the rejection came from not meeting expectations at that early stage.

Overall, the process felt short and high-stakes. My reflection was mostly that the bar is immediate—if the first technical conversation doesn’t go well, the process doesn’t really give you much of a runway.
