I went through Meta’s loop with the standard cadence: a recruiter touchpoint, then an initial round that tested coding, and finally a set of onsite interviews that included two system design rounds, another coding round, and a behavioral round.

The overall structure felt pretty deliberate, and the technical rounds dug into fundamentals rather than staying high level.

System and PE basics were recurring themes in my experience. The coding parts were comparatively straightforward, but the PE basics and systems portions required more studying and were broad enough that they could go deep quickly. I noticed how much they cared about the concepts I chose to emphasize, since they pushed on details once I started talking.

The process ultimately got cut short due to a hiring pause, so there wasn’t a clean “you passed” or “you failed”
