Meta Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Hard

Negative

London, EnglandPosted May 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My experience started poorly because the interviewer didn’t seem to listen the way I needed.

When I began answering, they kept stopping me and steering me toward something they wanted, but I couldn’t tell what they meant.

The communication breakdown made the round stressful in a way that didn’t feel like it was about my actual knowledge. I didn’t end up with an offer, and the biggest takeaway was how much a misunderstanding in real time can derail a technical interview even if I’m trying to respond correctly.
