I started with the recruiter call, then moved into the first technical screen focused on coding and engineering fundamentals—PE basics and coding.

After that, I had the full loop where the format stayed very consistent: multiple rounds including SWE coding, behavioral, and systems (OS-style) coverage.

The coding rounds felt more direct, but the systems and PE basics portions demanded a lot more depth. I remember studying for the concepts because the interviewer could ask from a wide range of angles and then go in for follow-ups, which made it hard to bluff through. Even when I answered confidently, the deeper questions kept coming, so I had to be precise and ready to justify the “why,” not just the surface approach.
