I had an early, low-pressure start that began with conversations around engineering fundamentals—technology preferences, best practices, and how I handled things like error management.

I ended up talking about specific languages and how I thought about building systems, including topics like microservices and SOA.

That informal discussion was run by their CTO, and it felt genuinely kind and polished. We went deeper on Go-related details like how to manage errors, including how panic and channels fit into the mental model. Even though it wasn’t framed like a typical coding screen, it set the tone: thoughtful questions, lots of technical depth, and a conversation style that didn’t feel adversarial.
