My process started with a chat with the hiring manager where we dug into what I’d worked on previously.

That conversation set the tone: it was fairly direct, and the focus was on my past decisions and how I approached problems.

After that, I moved into a round that felt more like a live technical check. I joined a Teams meeting with two engineers and answered more web-development-leaning CS questions that were described as basic rather than tricky. What threw me off a bit was how much they probed for reasoning—during the interview, I was asked to walk through my resume and then explain why I made particular choices, along with what a better solution might have looked like.
