My early rounds started with a screening that didn’t go in my favor.

In one part of the process, I saw a mismatch in how the interviewer treated the interaction: I felt like the interviewer expected fully formed code immediately and wasn’t willing to explain the question or guide me toward an approach, which made the whole coding attempt feel harsher than it needed to be. I didn’t get the chance to calibrate, and it showed.

In a different screening-style experience, the questions were mostly hypothetical and scenario-based. I stayed professional and answered as clearly as I could, but that time I was rejected right there in the screening stage.
