Manulife Financial Software Engineer interview experience

What they wanted most was more than just individual engineering knowledge—it was about how I thought about managing people and building a team environment. I had to show understanding of team management, how to encourage a team, and how I handled leadership.

A lot of the focus was also on stakeholders and communicating across teams, plus demonstrating knowledge of different technologies and skill sets. By the time the last round finished, it was clear they were evaluating how I’d operate in a broader role, not only whether I could explain technical concepts.
