My interview started in a way that surprised me: the interviewer jumped straight into QA and didn’t spend much time asking about what I had been doing in my current role.

Instead, the focus immediately went to the testing/task work, and it felt disconnected from my background.

When I got stuck, the interviewer did guide me through the process, which helped me keep moving rather than shutting down. Still, the beginning of the conversation made it feel like my experience wasn’t being fully assessed the way I expected.

I didn’t get an offer. My honest reflection was that the guidance kept the interview from becoming impossible, but the lack of context at the start made it harder to feel like I was being evaluated fairly against my actual experience.
