Macquarie Group Investment Banking Analyst interview experience

The round mixed behavioral questions with basic finance and accounting topics, plus a handful of brainteaser-style prompts. It wasn’t just “talk through your experience”—I had to switch gears between how I handled situations, the fundamentals of finance/accounting, and short-form problem solving.

The session itself was straightforward in format and felt like a genuine first filter rather than anything overly drawn out. I ultimately moved past that stage, which made me feel like I’d found the right balance between discussing my background and handling the quick technical/logic components.
