After earlier steps, I eventually received an offer letter that ended up being lower than I expected.

When I asked for a market-rate package, they didn’t really come up to it, and the offer that arrived reflected a smaller package than what I’d been expecting. I found the HR round frustrating because it felt misaligned with what I’d requested.

I ultimately rejected the offer. The final moment left me with a pretty honest takeaway: even when the process gets to the letter stage, the compensation gap can be the real deciding factor, and I wasn’t willing to move forward on terms that didn’t match the value we discussed.
